What is this?
This is a relaunch of the Resident Services Peer Support Group with Housing Oregon.
Workshop is free and open to anyone. Regular recurring meetings will start this spring.
We Count Oregon is a state-wide community-based effort to increase the participation of hard-to-count populations in the 2020 Census. The Census 101 is an introductory course in what you need to know about the 2020 Census. Learn what the Census is and why it is important. Understand the timeline and process of the 2020 Census, and how this Census is different from the last US Census.

Why Resident Services staff?
Educating and engaging residents of affordable housing communities is an important component to ensure hard-to-count communities are included.

  • Resident services staff can help post info in community meeting rooms and answer residents' questions about the census.
  • You can help ensure census staff are able to get into locked buildings if that is an issue, connecting them with your property management or onsite staff.
  • Raise awareness/answer questions with undocumented residents that its ok to respond to the census.
  • With this training, you too can provide quick training to other staff in your organization.
